When we make a sentence--
1. We Name some person (व्यक्ति) or thing (वस्तु).
2. We say something about that person or thing.

1. Subject:
The part which names the person (व्यक्ति) or thing (वस्तु) we are speaking about.
The Subject of a sentence usually comes first, but sometimes it is put after the predicate.
Ex: He has a good memory.
On the top of the hill lives a hermit.

2. Predicate
The part which tell something about the subject.
The part which tell something about the subject.
Ex: He has a good memory.

Note: In imperative sentences the subject is left out;
Ex: Stand there.
Have mercy upon us.
