"이번 주 중대고비"...'사회적 거리두기' 중요 With the continued sharp rise in the number of coronavirus cases in the country, …South Korea has warned that this period is a "critical moment" in its battle against the virus.
Authorities are stressing the need for so-called 'social distancing' to contain further infections.

Two weeks have passed since February 16th, …when Patient 31 last attended services at the Daegu branch of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
Since then, more than half of South Korea's confirmed coronavirus cases have been linked to the religious group.
Since the incubation period of the virus is normally 14 days, …the country can now evaluate the possibility of a community spread outside of those tied to Shincheonji.
"The coming days in early March are deemed a critical moment in the virus' spread."
COVID-19 is transferred through close contact, …which is being within two meters of a patient for 15 minutes.
Face-to-face contact or exposure to their bodily fluids is considered close contact, …even if it's for less than 15 minutes.
This is why South Korean authorities are reiterating the need for social distancing …and asking people to refrain from attending mass gatherings and religious services, …to prevent further community spread.
"Those who are 65 or older, suffering from chronic diseases or pregnant should not visit places where there are lot of people. Please wear a face mask if you must visit medical facilities."
Since the new school semester has been delayed nationwide, …the Korea Medical Association is asking people to stay home during the first week of March ….as if there's a snowstorm keeping them inside.
The government has also asked local governments, public organizations and businesses to practice social distancing, …like working from home, if possible.
