I wrote a song about growing up

69/366 on the Song a Day Challenge. this is "Where Did It All Go?"

I have this memory of me and 3 friends sitting in front of the school when we finished grade 5. Those were my closest friends at the time. I had no idea the following year they would all decide they didn't like me any more and they would stop talking to me altogether and bully me. It was really painful for a long time but I learned that that kinda stuff hurts so I try my hardest to be kind to other people and include people when I can. We're all doing our best and we're in it together.

I think what turned them off of me was that I was always trying to be more than I was. A grade 6 trying to be Justin Bieber.. Yeah, can rub people the wrong way. But every step I took, every time I looked foolish or embarrassed myself, brought me right here. So I wouldn't change anything. I would never have given up in a thousand years.
