Incredible Footage of Violinist Performing During Brain Surgery

Incredible Footage of Violinist Performing During Brain Surgery A patient at King’s College Hospital in London played the violin while surgeons successfully removed a tumour from her brain.

Professional musician Dagmar Turner, 53, was diagnosed with a large brain tumour in 2013 after suffering a seizure during a symphony performance.
The decision to remove the benign tumor was made after it continued to grow despite radiotherapy, threatening a brain area that controls the fine movements of her left hand.

After beginning the operation under general anaesthetics, Turner was woken up to play her instrument while surgeons removed the tumour, helping them avoid damaging the areas of her brain that were activated while she played.
