Common Knee Down & Body Position Mistakes ~ MotoJitsu

Common Knee Down & Body Position Mistakes ~ MotoJitsu In this video I describe the common mistakes I have seen with riders trying to get their knee down. First, take a course that teaches this like Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic (totalcontroltraining.net), next make sure you're in full gear...my knee pucs are from (leeparksdesign.com) and get into a big, empty lot. I recommend trying to go left first until you're comfortable before going right. Once you're good with both directions, do transitions. There's a lot of techniques that need to come together to get your knee down safely. Ensure your speed is correct, around 20-25 mph going around a 40ft diameter circle. Make sure your vision is good. Look to where you want to be going, not down at the front tire or cones on the ground. For your body position, half butt cheek off and have your head to the inside of the bike by your mirror. Your outside arm should be relaxed and not tensed up. Ensure your inside foot is away from touching the ground. Your chin and chest should be facing where you want to be going. For your timing of this whole thing, have your body position set up early, before you lean the bike. Also make sure you give the bike a bit of gas as you start to lean over to compensate for slowing down as you're leaning. Common mistakes I see are riders crossed up, meaning their head and shoulders are facing the opposite direction of where you're going. Another thing I see is pushing the bike down under you vs. staying in the position the entire time.

My vision is to inspire riders to wear full gear, take courses, and practice in order to reduce crashes on the public roads.
